Black Prince Cirque. Easy trail with minimal elevation gain. Lake dries up in late summer. Good winter hike as long as you do not go past the trees across the lake into avy terrain. Getting Started. Park at the Black Prince parking lot off the Smith Dorrien Highway. Trail is well marked. Taking Children. Great for kids. Easy short wide trail.

Black Prince Interpretive Trail is a wonderful, family-friendly hike on the Smith-Dorrien. Close to Kananaskis Lakes, this is a good trail if you are camping nearby. More experienced hikers can continue past Warspite Lake right up into the Black Prince Cirque. The start of the trail is at the signed trailhead, near the outhouses.
