I was prepared to leave the 1978 roadster as is with it's rubber bumpers, that is until I took them off, for overall paintwork.

With the car up on jack stands, begin by disconnecting the wiring leading to the turn signal/running lights in the bumper. Then, with a 9/16" socket, remove the bolts holding the corner braces to the back of the bumper and chassis. PHOTO 2. Remove the lower valance. A brand new valance comes with the kit.
